Treatment for Heroin Addiction

Methadone- Used for 30 years. Suppresses withdrawal 24-36 hours. Relieves craving. Effects last 4-6 times as long as heroin. Taken once a day.


Buprenophine/naloxone (Suboxone) – Can get in a doctor’s office. Less risk of

addiction than methadone.
